LinkedIn tips and tricks
And it is again time for another LinkedIn tip.✨
As the nights are getting longer and there is much more time that gets to be spent indoors then I was thinking maybe it is a good time to talk about committing to posting. But this empty pop up posting window is rather scary?
Let’s start small.
For now I encourage you to start listing your potential posting topics and make yourself a social media plan. How many posts would you like to post and on what topics? Or let me ask it in another way - how much time are you able to set aside each week in order to consistently post on LinkedIn. By thinking ahead and planning ahead you might be surprised how much time you actually could invest in your personal brand.
It is recommended that you post 2-3 times per week. This is considered to be the optimum amount of posts per week. In order to get started I would recommend to first think about your target audience and then start listing down all the potential posting topics.
When doing so, it might feel like there is not enough to talk about. In this case it could be wise to review your topics and divide them into smaller ideas. LinkedIn posts don’t need to be as long as articles. It is better to keep them in the length that people are actually able to read through. It is recommended that your post is at least as long for the “See more” button to appear, this way people need to engage (aka click) on your post to read more. But we will dive into the LinkedIn algorithm in one of the upcoming months. Again, let’s take small steps.
In order to build regular posting into a habit, book time slots in your calendar for this kind of idea listing and social media planning. Make sure those are recurring so your calendar takes the role of reminding you about your commitment to plan ahead.
So take action now! You will improve your profile, reconnect with the platform and give employers and contacts a more rounded impression of you.
Stay tuned for tips about different posting formats and LinkedIn algorithm updates that will help your posts get higher reach and engagement.🚀
