Showcasing your volunteer work in LinkedIn

It’s time to share some more about making the most out of your LinkedIn profile.

This month we will have a look at the volunteer work section. But first let’s take a moment to think why it is important in the first place?

LinkedIn is a professional network and your profile is also expected to be professional. This is the place to build your personal, yet professional brand. This doesn't mean that your profile can’t reflect who you are on top of your career.

Volunteer work section is the perfect place to show what you believe in and how you contribute to a better future.

If your volunteer work section is empty, this is not shown on your profile and you need to add it. For this find the “Add profile section” button on the top of your profile.

Once you have the section, then it is time to fill it with your volunteer work.

For EHRS members I recommend to showcase your membership, as this is how you contribute to lifelong learning, practice sharing and improving the future of work for everyone out there.✨

You can reorder the listed volunteer works based on your preference.

Adding volunteer work on your profile is even more important when you are only in the beginning of your career and don’t have too much to show on the experience section.

Take action and boost your personal brand — show how you contribute to the wider world!

Stay tuned for all the upcoming tips.
